Tottenham Hotspur have started to make some movement ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

Ange Postecoglou’s side might have ended the season with a damp squib, but there has been huge progression at the club.

Tottenham fans have every right to be excited by what is coming their way this summer, including the news that Timo Werner has returned to the club.

The German international signed for Spurs on a loan deal from RB Leipzig in January. And now the club announced on Tuesday evening that he has re-joined until the end of the 2024/25 campaign, with the option to make the deal permanent.

But that bit of news seems to have overshadowed another bit of news the club put out earlier on in the day.

Tottenham confirmed on Instagram that Brandon Austin has signed a new contract that will run until 2029.

The 25-year-old was all smiles as he put pen to paper, with his teammates equally as overjoyed for him.

The homegrown talent made several appearances on the bench for Spurs this season, but he is yet to don the senior colours, with Guglielmo Vicario the main guy.

Udogie, who missed the end of the campaign because of injury, wrote: ‘Yes, brother’, whilst Brennan Johnson added ‘My guy’ in the comments section of Austin’s IG post.

Emerson Royal also added his comment by saying: ‘Bi. Congrats bro’.

Who will Tottenham Hotspur sign?

The million-dollar question is what areas of the pitch do Tottenham need to deal with the most?

Some would argue the backline, whilst others feel that a much-needed striker is needed because Harry Kane hasn’t really been replaced.

Tottenham didn’t really struggle to score goals last season, it’s the defence that let them down.

From Ivan Toney, who is expected to leave Brentford, to perhaps some midfield bite. You feel a lot of work needs to be done.

This is where Daniel Levy properly backs his manager and proves that he is willing to take the club to the next level and beyond.
