Manchester United pulled off the performances of all performances during their stunning 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup.
If a Manchester United fan ever wanted to write a footballing script for his own team, then it was played out in front of a raucous Old Trafford crowd on Sunday.
It was so good for Erik ten Hag and his players that even the much-criticised Antony showed up, scored a crucial equalising goal to take it to extra-time and played out his best moment at the club so far.
The 24-year-old has had to take a lot of verbal hits since his big-money transfer to Manchester United from Ajax, but when he reacted to yesterday’s win on Instagram, he made it clear that it’s ‘an unforgettable day’.
In the comments of Antony’s IG post, he was lauded and applauded by his current and past teammates, including Harry Maguire and David de Gea.
Both Antony and Harry Maguire actually didn’t start the game.
They both came on at the same time, after 71 minutes, before watching Amad Diallo score in stoppage time of extra-time to seal one of the most dramatic FA Cup finishes.
Harry Maguire and David de Gea praise Antony
‘What a performance,” wrote Maguire, whilst de Ga added ‘You deserve a lot, brother’ and West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus sent a praying hands and heart emoji to the Manchester United star.

Antony’s right foot
A lot of things have gone wrong for the Brazil star since moving to the club, but you can’t deny him this moment.
Usually, it has been nothing but left-foot heavy from the player, and in truth, it has caused him problems because it has resulted in him becoming way too predictable.
But even the great Virgil van Dijk was fooled here because Antony swivelled onto his right foot to calmly slot the ball home and take the game to extra-time.
It’s no doubt the best moment of his Manchester United career so far, and it’s deserved!
