Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will face Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Premier League club Arsenal will take on Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier club competition this season.

Arsenal are in the race for the Premier League title this season, while Bayern are unlikely to catch Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga table.

How Bayern Munich will view Arsenal

German and European football expert Kevin Hatchard has given his take on the tie. He has told talkSPORT how Bayern will view Arsenal.

Hatchard said on talkSPORT (11: 24 am, March 15, 2024): “I don’t think they will (be happy). I think they will be concerned because they will have seen what Arsenal have done in the Premier League this season.

“They will have seen the way that Arsenal managed to find a way against Porto. I think that was hugely important because that’s the kind of awkward tie that you have to really come through if you are going to win a tournament like this.”

My View: Bayern Munich should not take Arsenal lightly

In my opinion, Bayern Munich should not take Arsenal lightly. I think that the defending Bundesliga champions must be wary of what the Gunners can do in the UEFA Champions League.

True, Arsenal won against FC Porto over two legs only on penalties, but the Gunners did not give up and showed a lot of spirit.

Let us not forget that Bayern lost the first leg of their Round of 16 tie against Lazio in Rome. Thomas Tuchel’s team cannot afford to lose to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

I think that Bayern will head into the tie against Arsenal as favourites. They have a better team and have a wealth of experience.

There is also the Harry Kane factor. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker, who is on the radar of Manchester United, will be determined to end Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League run.

Kane has been superb for Bayern this season. The England international striker has scored 36 goals and given 11 assists in 34 matches in all competitions this season.
