Unlike last season, Tottenham fans are very much looking forward to the final few months of the season and pushing for Champions League football.
This time last year, not only were Spurs sliding down the Premier League table, but they were also playing abject and defensive-minded football.
But a certain Ange Postecoglou has changed all of that, but he needs the tools to do it.
Two players, who have been key to his all-action, fearless and high-energy system, are Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
Michael Dawson stated that the Tottenham duo are willing to go ’toe-to-toe with anyone’, even Manchester City’s goal machine, Erling Haaland, as he told Soccer Special on Sky Sports (12/03/24 at 7:10 pm).
Given the amount of space they have to defend, because Spurs’ fullbacks play like number 10s, then you need serious courage to back yourself when opposition attackers are running at you.
Time and time again, the pure electric pace of Micky van de Ven has been spoken about, with the summer signing probably the quickest player in the Premier League right now.

“Now we are going to see what Radu Dragusin is like,” said Dawson.
“Micky van de Ven has been absolutely sensational. Micky van de Ven and Romero, they don’t care and would go toe-to-toe with anyone, even Haaland, I honestly believe it.
“Who comes out on top? I don’t know. But Dragusin now gets a chance.”

Radu Dragusin’s chance
With van de Ven going down injured at Villa Park at the weekend, this now provides Radu Dragusin with a chance to start games.
The January capture looked very good during his 45 or so minutes against Aston Villa, which is a positive sign because he is now going to be needed.
Tottenham’s flying Dutchman won’t return until after the international break, so Dragusin has a chance to prove to his fans what he is all about.
If he can tick the boxes, then it will further prove that the club’s recruitment is going well and the depth Postecoglou has to pick from.
