Plymouth Argyle manager Ian Foster has given his verdict on Alfie Devine, who is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Foster has noted what makes Devine a special player.

So, what has been said about Tottenham Hotspur-owned Alfie Devine? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur-owned playmaker Alfie Devine

Well, Plymouth Argyle manager Ian Foster has been speaking about Alfie Devine. The attacking midfielder is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur at the moment.

Devine was sent out on loan to Port Vale in League One from Premier League club Tottenham in the summer of 2023.

The playmaker scored two goals and gave one assist in 14 starts and six substitute appearances in League One. He was a success.

Spurs recalled him from Port Vale in the January transfer window and sent him out on loan to Plymouth, for whom he has given two assists in five Championship appearances.

PlymouthLive quotes Foster as saying about Devine: “Alfie’s performances have been very good, with and without the ball.

“He has got a really good tactical brain, a really clear understanding of what we are asking him to do and how to do it, and he applies himself brilliantly.”

Foster added: “It’s getting used to each other and people will really start to understand his qualities, how he can receive the ball in between the lines on the half turn and be positive.

”He’s a lovely footballer. I have worked an awful lot with Alfie, I know what he’s capable of and we are starting to see it now. Today (against Leeds), he was quieter, probably because of the level of the opposition so you get less time on the ball.”

My View: Alfie Devine could be a star for Tottenham Hotspur

In my opinion, Alfie Devine could be a star for Tottenham Hotspur in the coming years. I believe that the attacking midfielder has a bright future ahead of him.

Devine is only 19 now, but he is playing in the Championship. We all know that the second tier of English football is a very competitive and rigorous domestic league.

It is a very tough league, yet at just 19, Devine is playing in it. He could be turning out for the Tottenham youth team now, but he is playing for a professional club in a professional league.

That shows how good Devine is. The England Under-20 international attacking midfielder will return to Tottenham as a better player.
