HITC understands Real Madrid are making progress with the deal to sign Kylian Mbappe – who is on course to finalise a move to the Spanish capital.

The prospective move of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid has often been one of the sagas of any summer transfer window and it looks like there will finally be some movement on this deal.

HITC has been told that Real president Florentino Perez remains staunch in his desire to sign the generational French forward and has made it clear that he wants Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Mbappe rejected a move to Madrid in the summer of 2022 but seemingly signalled his intention to those at PSG with his decision to reject the chance to extend his deal at the club until 2025.

PSG’s surprise

There was surprise at the French giants when Mbappe turned down their contract offer as they believed he would sign that deal and it would give PSG a chance to sell him for a good price.

Due to the fact he is out of contract at the end of the season, he is allowed to talk with other clubs, but there is only one team he is interested in joining and HITC can confirm talks are ongoing between his team and the Spanish giants.

As well as this, sources with knowledge of the situation have told HITC that it is a case of ‘when’ Real and Mbappe is announced rather than ‘if’.

The French forward has been a revelation since moving to the Parisian side with Mbappe netting an incredible 241 goals and 105 assists for PSG in just 288 games.

However, Mbappe and Madrid has always looked to be a match made in heaven with the Spanish side trying in two consecutive windows to sign the forward but to no avail.

PSG agreement

Mbappe does have an agreement with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he will inform him first of any agreement, and that is expected well before the end of the season.

It is understood that the French forward will be heading to this summer’s European Championship as a Real Madrid player but won’t officially be able to begin in the Spanish capital until July 1st.

One of the biggest deals of the summer could be about to happen.
