Darren Bent has given his verdict on Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has been impressed by how Garnacho has taken his chance.

So, what has Darren Bent said about Manchester United and Argentina international winger Alejandro Garnacho? Let’s take a look.

Darren Bent praises Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho

Well, Darren Bent has been speaking about Alejandro Garnacho. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has been impressed by how the Manchester United winger has taken his chances.

The talkSPORT pundit has noted the impressive attitude that Garnacho is showing and is not worried about the competition that he is facing.

As you can see below, Bent has said that the 19-year-old winger is not scared that he is facing competition from Marcus Rashford for a place in the starting lineup.

It is not exactly correct, though. United manager Erik ten Hag has been playing both Garnacho and Rashford in the starting lineup.

Manchester United forward Rashford is starting on the left, while Garnacho is being deployed on the right. The Argentina international winger’s preferred position, though, is on the left.

Bent said about Garnacho on talkSPORT (5:45 pm, February 9, 2024): “I will tell you what. Garnacho, the boy is on fire, isn’t he? Keep doing the Ronaldo celebrations. The Messi boys will be out for him when he goes back to Argentina.”

When prompted by co-host Andy Goldstein that Garnacho is keeping Marcus Rashford out of the starting lineup, Bent said: “Do you know what it is, though?

“A lot of players in that position, and I have seen it, where the player who is playing in front of them, like Rashford, is such a big key presence that you are almost scared to go and grab that opportunity because you are thinking, ‘How is the manager ever going to pick me over someone like Marcus Rashford?’

“Garnacho has just gone, ‘I don’t really care. I am the main man. I want to play every single game.’ Fair play to him. I am a huge fan of his.”

My View: Erik ten Hag should stick with Alejandro Garnacho

In my opinion, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has to keep Alejandro Garnacho in the team for the time being. He is a massive talent, according to a rival Premier League coach.

I think that the winger is doing very well on the right flank. Garnacho has made that position his own.

The teenager has made 15 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for United this season. He has scored five goals and given two assists in those games. Garnacho has also scored one goal in two EFL Cup matches and has scored one goal in six UEFA Champions League games this campaign.
