Former Manchester City target Abdulkadir Omur has joined Hull six months after confirming that the Premier League champions had made a £23 million bid for him earlier in his Trabzonspor career.
With the Turkey international joining Fabio Carvalho, Ozan Tufan, Jean-Michel Seri and Scott Twine on Humberside, promotion-chasing Hull City continue to enhance their reputation as a club where talented players can kick-start their careers after falling on hard times.
Abdulkadir Omur, only a few years ago, was attracting the attention of Manchester City while earning comparisons with Lionel Messi due to his devastating dribbling skills and his eye for goal.
He joins Hull, however, after a series of niggling injuries wreacked havoc with his once-glittering reputation, Omur hoping to be another success story at a club who have breathed fresh life into Tufan, Seri, Liam Delap and co.

Former Man City target finally moves to England
“Manchester City wanted me,” Omur told TRT Spor back in 2023. “Just as Real Madrid signed Arda Guler (from Galatasaray). There was an offer of 26 million euros.
“Jokingly, I said to our president; ‘Let me go’. He did not allow me (to join Man City).
“Four or five days after the offer, I got injured. It was bad. I wonder what would have happened if I went to Manchester City at that time.”
Now 24, Omur may have spent plenty of time wondering what might have been. Now confirmed as Hull’s latest intriguing arrival, however, it is time for one of the talented Turkish exports of recent seasons to stop harking back to the past and instead focus on what could still be a very bright future.
Hull sign ‘an outstanding technical footballer’
“When we were alerted to the fact he could be available, we felt it was a wonderful opportunity to bring someone with real quality into our team,” Hull coach Liam Rosenior beams. “He had a massive part in winning the Turkish Super Lig (for Trabzonspor in 2022). And he has played for the national team.
“The fans will love watching him. He’s someone who can unlock the door, create and score goals, and has a great final pass and shot.
“He’s an outstanding technical footballer who can go past players. (Omur) has a low centre of gravity and works hard out of possession. I love his football personality.”
