Premier League high-flyers West Ham United have allegedly made an £11 million bid to sign Serie A defender Andrea Carboni while Crystal Palace have been rebuffed by Juventus in pursuit of Matias Soule.
That is according to Massimo Brambati, the former Torino, Bari and Empoli man who claims to have a friend very well connected in Italian football.
A friend who appears to be keeping the eagle-eyed Brambati abreast of any behind-the-scenes discsuins surrounding two of Serie A’s rising stars. Andrea Carboni, an Italy under-21 international who represents Monza, is supposedly the subject of a bid from West Ham United.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are alleged to have made an approach of their own for Matias Soule, the Lionel Messi-loving winger making waves on loan at Frosinone from Scudetto challengers Juventus.

West Ham and Crystal Palace eye Serie A raids
“The truth is, an agent friend of mine was in Riyadh for lunch with (Inter Milan director Piero) Ausilio,” Brambati, who himself has worked as an agent after hanging up his boots, tells Tuttomercatoweb.
“I know that West Ham bid £11 million for Carboni who is at Monza. For Soule, an offer arrived from Crystal Palace and Juve said no.”
Carboni, an up-and-coming 22-year-old centre-half renowned for his physicality and his aerial prowess, has been a regular in the Monza side this season, barring a spell on the sidelines with a broken foot.
Soule, meanwhile, is rapidly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young widemen. A sumptous free-kick whipped into the top corner of the Cagliari net on Sunday even drew comparisons with one Diego Maradona. Brambati does not share exactly how much Crystal Palace are rumoured to have offered Juventus, but Corriere dello Sport indicated in December that The Eagles were willing to make a club-record investment of around £30 million.
Hammers to sign Kalvin Phillips from Man City
One player who will arrive in London this week is Kalvin Phillips, the seldom-seen Manchester CIty midfielder. Pep Guardiola confirmed today what HITC reported recently, the former Leeds star arriving at West Ham on loan.
The Hammers are also keen on Callum Wilson, with Newcastle potentially willing to cash in on the experienced striker for a bargain £18 million.
