- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has held talks with Bayern Munich about a transfer to the Bundesliga giants in the January market.
We confirmed earlier this week that Spurs are open to letting Dier leave north London once they bring in a new defender. Tottenham are now progressing in that respect with a deal to sign Radu Dragusin from Genoa moving forward. He could even join Spurs in the next week.
With Dier out of contract at the end of this season, he is allowed to speak with foreign clubs from this month. Bayern Munich are one of a number of sides to have already met his camp, as well. Sources have also confirmed that Der FCB boss Thomas Tuchel has spoken to Dier.

Harry Kane gave Bayern Munich a glowing reference about Eric Dier
Spurs icon Harry Kane has also given his Bayern bosses a glowing reference about Dier, who they are now considering bringing in this month as they look for defensive cover. Bayern are assessing their options, which have also included Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea among many.
Dier does have other options around Europe, including his former club Sporting Lisbon. But much of that is based around a free transfer in the summer sales. While Bayern Munich are now gearing up to make Tottenham an offer in their bid to secure Dier’s transfer this month.
Bayern Munich are advancing for Eric Dier’s transfer from Tottenham

Bayern Munich are now following up on Kane’s glowing reference with Dier seemingly out of Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou’s plans. The 29-year-old missed Spurs’ 1-0 win at home to Burnley in the FA Cup on Friday after suffering an injury. But he has rarely played this term.
Dier has only played 198 minutes across four Premier League appearances after a potential 12 games. He has missed eight of Tottenham’s fixtures this season and spent a further eight on their bench. Postecoglou has further only started Dier once during his four appearances.
