Leeds United continue to be linked with the £4 million-rated Nathaniel Adjei but Hammarby are claiming that there are currently no talks scheduled with the Championship challengers.
Conceding almost a goal a game on average, Leeds United could certainly do with plugging the holes in a leaky hull as Daniel Farke’s side aim to chip away at the now seven-point gap separating them from the automatic promotion positions.
And links with Hammarby’s Nathaniel Adjei suggest that a new centre-half is on Leeds’ January wishlist, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Preston North End, Celtic and Rangers among those also to be mentioned in conjunction with the 21-year-old Ghanaian (The Sun).
As far as Hammarby’s sporting director is concerned, however, reports suggesting that Leeds are edging closer to securing Adjei’s signature are wide of the mark.

“We do not have a meeting with Leeds booked,” Mikael Hjelmberg tells Fotbollskanalen.
Hjelmsberg, a week before Christmas, indicated that a January departure could not be ruled out. His stance appears to have changed – nay, strengthened – since then, the director now insistent that Adjei will still be plying his trade at Hammarby when the 2024 Allsvenskan season kicks off at the end of March.
“I have met his agent and discussed (the future) with him. I know there is interest in Adjei. He won’t (be sold),” Hjelmsberg adds.
“That is my ambition anyway. We will probably be able to sell some players during January. It remains to be seen who it will be. But I have no ambition to sell more players than that.
“We have had concrete offers for our players, but no offers that we have come close to accepting.”
Leeds have been linked with the likes of AFC Wimbledon forward Ali Al-Hamadi and another Swedish-based talent – goalkeeper Noel Tornqvist – but much focus is likely to be placed on keeping Farke’s squad together rather than adding to it.
