Montpellier striker Akor Adams admits he dreams of playing in the Premier League when asked about reports linking him with West Ham United.
As well as Jarrod Bowen has done since being transformed from a winger into a number nine by David Moyes – scoring again during Sunday’s 3-0 hammering of Wolverhampton Wanderers – there is most certainly room at the London Stadium inn for a classic centre-forward in the mould of Akor Adams.
One of Ligue 1’s rising stars, Adams has scored seven goals in 15 games since joining Montpellier over the summer. In fact, if you add in his tally from the first half of the 2023 season in Norway at Lillestrom, Adams has 25 goals in 35 matches since the turn of the year.
And the latest highly-rated striker to come out of Nigeria could soon be on the move again. According to The Sun, there is interest from West Ham.

West Ham like Montpellier striker Akor Adams
When asked about those Hammers links, Adams told Milan News this week that he has no insider knowledge. But, should the Europa League holders step up their interest, the 6ft 3ins powerhouse of a striker could turn his ‘dream’ into a reality.
“To tell the truth, I haven’t thought about it and I don’t know anything (about West Ham’s interest). My mind is on Montpellier,” says Adams, also a target for AC Milan. “But for all young players, the Premier League is a dream.”
Premier League ‘dream’
Adams, who describes himself as a ‘very physical attacker’ who idolises Brazil legend Ronaldo and compatriot Victor Osimhem, could be Michail Antonio’s long-term replacement at West Ham. He certainly possesses Antonio’s strength and work rate off the ball. Add in his superb track record in the final third, and you’ve got a pretty complete number nine.
West Ham have also been linked with AZ Alkmaar talisman Vangelis Pavlidis, Bayer Leverkusen benchwarmer Adam Hlozek and Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart, among others.
