Premier League outfit Fulham are keen on Flamengo striker Pedro but Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes would love to see the Brazil international join him at Molineux instead.
Wolverhampton Wanderers could certainly do a lot worse than to follow Joao Gomes’ advice.
While goals haven’t been quite so hard to come by as in recent seasons of late – Hwang Hee-Chan, Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto all enjoying impressive runs under Gary O’Neil – Wolves are arguably still a top-class number nine away from turning on the afterburners and leaving the relegation battle in the rearview mirror for good.
Pedro, meanwhile, is as prolific as they come.

Wolves could target a striker in January
A 6ft 1ins centre-forward in the Raul Jimenez mould, Pedro has a superb 35 goals for Flamengo during the 2023 campaign, with Fulham setting their sights on the Brazil international ahead of the January transfer window.
“Fulham intend to sign Pedro, the centre-forward of Flamengo, after the turn of the year,” explains Brazilian reporter Jorge Nicola, the man who broke the news that Marco Silva’s side were leading the race for Fluminense’s £30 million-rated enforcer Andre Trindade.
“Fulham are looking for a striker. I received information a very influential person, especially in world football, and he told me that Pedro will receive an offer from Fulham. The idea is to sign him in January.”
Joao Gomes knows first-hand just how decisive Pedro can be, winning the Copa Libertdores and Brazil’s top-flight alongside the 26-year-old striker at Flamengo. And, speaking to ESPN, Wolves £15 million midfielder admits he would relish a reunion in the Midlands.
35 goals for Flamengo this season
“I think I would choose two. One would be Pedro and the other (Giorgian de) Arrascaeta,” Gomes said when asked which former Flamengo team-mates he would like to see join him at Wolves.
“Those guys are geniuses. And I already know them. For me I think it would be easier for us to fit in here and continue this good work that is being developed here.”
Pedro could be the man to fill an Aleksandr Mitrovic-shaped void in Fulham’s frontline. Marco Silva’s side are also keen on Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, though that ship may have sailed with Manchester United now in talks.
“Pedro has a contract until 2027. He recently received a pay rise, and has a release clause of 60 million euros,” Nicola adds, Fulham likely to be faced with a substantial fee in talks with Flamengo.
“An offer of 20 million euros (£17 million) perhaps wouldn’t be accepted.”
