Wolves look set to miss out on Viktoria Plzen ace Rafiu Durosinmi with the Premier League linked striker agreeing a January switch to Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
Fortunately, rumours of Rafiu Durosinmi’s demise were greatly exaggerated. There were concerns that the in-form forward had ruptured his ACL. An injury which would have all-but certainly scuppered his hopes of a mid-season move to one of Europe’s major leagues.
Fortunately, lady luck was shining down on Durosinmi. The Viktoria Plzen talisman will only be out for three or four weeks rather than eight or nine months, with Sky Germany reporting that a move to Eintracht Frankfurt is now ‘getting closer and closer’.
Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to The Telegraph, are also keen on the 20-year-old Nigerian. Barring a dramatic change of stance, however, Durosinmi will be a Bundesliga player in 2024. Frankfurt have agreed terms with the player themselves – he will undergo a medical this month – and are in the final stages of rubber-stamping a £7 million deal with Plzen.

Wolves to miss out on Rafiu Durosinmi
Durosinmi has nine goals and six assists so far this season.
A towering, 6ft 4ins targetman, the former MFK Karvina man will join a Frankfurt side boasting a proud tradition when it comes to coaxing career-best performances out of talented if inconsistent attackers. Sebastian Haller, Andre Silva, Ante Rebic and Luka Jovic all sealed big-money moves after shining at the Commerzbank Arena.
Randal Kolo Muani, meanwhile, joined on a free and departed to Paris Saint-Germain for £77 million just a year later. Omar Marmoush appears to represent the continuation of this proud Frankfurt tradition.
Gary O’Neil wants a striker
Wolves look destined to miss out on Durosinmi, then, with Gary O’Neil forced to turn his attention to alternative targets ahead of the January window. The Black Country outfit missed out on the likes of Boulaye Dia (Salernitana) and Che Adams (Southampton) over the summer, but have at least found goals easier to come by than in recent seasons with Hwang Hee-Chan in particular enjoying a superb run of form in the final third.
Wolves host Burnley at Molineux tonight.
