Chelsea may now slash their asking price on defender Trevoh Chalobah after Tottenham Hotspur backed away from a move.
Tottenham Hotspur cooling their interest in Trevoh Chalobah may now cause Chelsea to change their demands.
That is according to a report from The Sunday Mirror (26/11, p68), who claim that Chelsea could slash their £25million asking price on Chalobah.
The 24-year-old hasn’t made a single Premier League appearance this season having struggled with injuries.
A hamstring blow is set to rule Chalobah out until January, meaning a departure away from Chelsea is looking in doubt.
Chelsea could slash Trevoh Chalobah asking price
Reports last week suggested that Tottenham Hotspur had cooled their interest in Chalobah due to his injury problem.
That is now backed up by The Sunday Mirror as they suggest that both Bayern Munich and Tottenham are ‘no longer interested’ in Chalobah.
Chalobah hasn’t kicked a ball under Mauricio Pochettino but whilst Chelsea want to sell, interest appears to be dwindling.
The Mirror now suggest that Chelsea may now cut their £25million asking price in order to try and force a sale.
Chalobah rejected a move to Nottingham Forest on deadline day and was seemingly hoping to put himself in Pochettino’s plans.
That hasn’t happened and Chelsea now seem so desperate to sell that they are prepared to slash his asking price come January.

We can’t see Tottenham changing their stance on Chalobah
Tottenham understandably want to land another centre back in January.
Lining up with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies as centre backs – as was the case against Aston Villa today – can’t be a long-term feature.
A homegrown option would be ideal for Tottenham, but we think Spurs are more likely to focus on landing another left-footer.
Micky van de Ven needs more competition at the back and a signing like Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth seems to make the most sense given that he is out of contract in 2024.
Chalobah is a right-footer and whilst has price tag coming down may attract more interest, but we don’t think Spurs will be back in for him now.
