Pundit Tony Cascarino is backing Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo to join Liverpool as a Mohamed Salah replacement.
Bryan Mbeumo would be the ideal replacement for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah if he heads to Saudi Arabia in 2024.
That is the view of pundit Tony Cascarino, who has backed Mbeumo for a big move to Anfield.
Salah is still a Liverpool player after the Reds rejected a £150million bid from Al Ittihad in September.
The Saudi Arabian side aren’t going away though and are expected to return with a new move for the Egyptian star in 2024.
Liverpool would still loathe to lose Salah but the huge money may be difficult to turn down.
Tony Cascarino backs Bryan Mbeumo for Liverpool transfer
Liverpool will surely be exploring the market for potential signings, just in case Salah does end up moving on in 2024.
One name we haven’t really seen mentioned is Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
The 24-year-old has already scored six goals in 10 Premier League games this season, including the second against Chelsea on Saturday.
Brentford paid £5.4million to sign Mbeumo and have now seen the Cameroon international become a star in the Premier League.
Pundit Tony Cascarino has now told The Times that he believes Mbeumo could be the ideal Salah replacement, highlighting that he has ‘real ferocity’ on the counter-attack.
Cascarino feels Mbeumo can shine for a club like Liverpool and still has plenty of room to improve with a move to Anfield.
“If Mohamed Salah ever leaves Liverpool, the club should go and buy Bryan Mbeumo as his replacement,” said Cascarino. “At only 24, his best years are ahead of him and he has all the attributes to succeed at a club of Liverpool’s stature: he is versatile, durable and counterattacks with real ferocity.”
“He has increased his goal output, with nine in the Premier League last season and six in only ten appearances this year, including the tap-in to an empty net that wrapped up Brentford’s 2-0 win away to Chelsea,” he added.

Who else could replace Liverpool star Mohamed Salah?
Finding somebody to replace Salah will be incredibly difficult; his attacking numbers have been simply sensational throughout his Liverpool career.
Some of the names mentioned so far may seem like a step down and Liverpool may need to sign somebody they believe can develop in the coming years.
Pedro Neto is one such player with Liverpool allegedly scouting the Wolverhampton Wanderers ace ahead of a possible move.
Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane is thought to be another target for Liverpool and already has Premier League experience with Manchester City.
PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko and Fiorentina’s Nicolas Gonzalez are on the radar too with Liverpool no doubt identifying left-footed wingers who can replace Salah – a daunting task for any potential Reds signing.
