Liverpool have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez ahead of the January transfer window.
Nicolas Gonzalez is being eyed up by both Liverpool and Chelsea having impressed for Fiorentina.
That is according to a report from Calciomercato, who claim that Gonzalez is attracting major interest.
Fiorentina have enjoyed a superb start to the new season, losing just one of their first eight games.
A win over Empoli tonight would take Fiorentina just two points off top spot with Vincenzo Italiano working wonders.

Liverpool and Chelsea want Nicolas Gonzalez
One of the stars of the show for Fiorentina is forward Nicolas Gonzalez, who has hit five goals already this season.
Gonzalez has been operating on the right flank for Fiorentina, cutting inside onto his left foot to cause mayhem.
The Argentinian is now attracting interest as Calciomercato suggest that Liverpool and Chelsea are both keen.
It’s stated that Gonzalez has been scouted by both Liverpool and Chelsea in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old isn’t for sale though and Fiorentina will allegedly demand around €60million (£52million) for Gonzalez.
That is not cheap but maybe top Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea will be tempted.

Liverpool keen on another Alexis Mac Allister teammate
Earlier today, we covered rumours from Italy suggesting that Liverpool have shown an interest in signing Boca Juniors ace Ezequiel Fernandez.
In that report, we added that Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is already a huge fan of Fernandez having praised him during his Brighton and Hove Albion days.
Mac Allister is also close with Gonzalez having featured in the Argentina national team together.
Brighton previously had an interest in signing Gonzalez from Stuttgart, and headlines were made when Gonzalez posed alongside Mac Allister in the midfielder’s home.
The pair weren’t able to join forces at Brighton but Liverpool may well make their move if Gonzalez continues to shine for Fiorentina.
