As we know, Sandro Tonali is facing a lengthy ban over betting issues, and Newcastle United are reportedly looking to sign a potential replacement in the January transfer window.
90min has reported that Newcastle United and Italy international midfielder Sandro Tonali could be banned for several months “after admitting to placing bets on matches involving his former club AC Milan”.
The report has noted that Newcastle have already drawn up a list of midfielders they could sign to replace Tonali in the middle of the season.
Newcastle United linked with Al Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves
And, according to 90min, one of them is former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.
Neves joined Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal from Wolves in the summer of 2023.
Wolves received £47 million in transfer fees for the 26-year-old (90min).
The transfer came as a huge surprise.

After all, Neves is about to enter his peak years and had interest from Arsenal among other clubs.
90min is now reporting that Neves could get a chance to return to England in the January transfer window.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) owns Newcastle.
PIF also owns Al Hilal.
So, according to 90min, PIF could try to make a loan deal happen between the two clubs regarding Neves.
My View: Ruben Neves would be a good signing for Newcastle United
I believe that Ruben Neves would be a very signing for Newcastle United on a loan deal in the January transfer window.
Neves was brilliant during his time at Wolves.
Newcastle could be playing in the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League in the second half of the season.
That could appeal to the 26-year-old.
Neves is a very good and combative midfielder who can hold his own in the middle of the park and also drive the team forward.
I think that if PIF are able to do a loan deal for Neves, then they should go for it.
Absolutely.
