Olivier Giroud is a man of many talents and the former Arsenal striker showcased that off for AC Milan on Saturday evening.
The 37-year-old was forced to don the goalkeeping gloves when AC Milan went down to 10-ten against Genoa in the eighth minute of added time following Mike Maignan’s sending-off.
And, in the 104th minute, the former Arsenal star pulled off a ‘brave’ save to ensure that AC Milan recorded a remarkable win, with the opposition goalkeeper, Josep Martinez, also shown a second yellow right at the death, as posted by TNT Sports.
It’s not a technique you would want to teach any young and up-and-coming goalkeeper, but as the ball was flicked over to George Puscas who was rushing through on goal, he was met by the determined Frenchman.
Surging forward, Olivier Giroud, head first, managed to get a hand to the ball, before grabbing it at the second time of asking and stopping Genoa from scoring.
There is always something entertaining about outfield players going in goal and Giroud proved it once again yesterday.

Giroud has had an underrated career
Things didn’t go as well as Giroud would have liked at the Emirates, but that shouldn’t hide how he has had a remarkable and underrated career.
From winning the greatest prize of them all – the World Cup in Russia with France – to helping AC Milan lift the Serie A title.
Not forgetting that he is also France’s all-time leading topscorer and given that he surpassed a man like Thierry Henry, then that says it all.
