Japhet Tanganga’s Tottenham Hotspur exit is now ‘imminent’ with the Premier League’s forgotten man joining Bundesliga outfit FC Augsburg in a £5 million loan-to-buy deal.
Fabrizio Romano – who else? – broke the news on Friday morning. Japhet Tanganga will, he says, undergo a medical in Bavaria. And thanks to German publication Kicker, we now know exactly how much Tottenham Hotspur could end up earning for a player who, not so long ago, was collecting the Man of the Match award after Nuno Espirito Santo’s side defeated Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Japhet Tanganga nears Tottenham Hotspur exit
Tanganga is not part of current head coach Ange Postecoglou’s plans. Kicker say that the former England U21 international will join Augsburg ‘imminently’, arriving on loan with a £5 million option-to-buy clause in his contract.
The Hackney-born Tanganga will follow Fulham’s Kevin Mbabu to Germany. One of the Bundesliga’s most effective right-backs not so long ago, Mbabu joins Augsburg on a similarly short-term deal, albeit without a permanent clause in his deal.
Tottenham, meanwhile, could also move out Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez on deadline day. Hojbjerg may end up at Fulham if Joao Palhinha gets his dream move to Bayern Munich.

Spurs have had a £20 million bid rejected by Bournemouth for Lloyd Kelly.
