West Ham United have now made a fresh approach to negotiate a transfer for Divock Origi with the AC Milan striker keen to return to the Premier League after one season.
That is according to TuttoMercatoWEB, which reports that West Ham have restarted contact with AC Milan about signing Origi. The Irons have turned their attention back to the 28-year-old after the sale of Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta. They believe he can replace the forward.
Hammers chiefs have closely followed Origi this summer with manager David Moyes keen to improve his attacking options. The Belgian scored 22 and assisted 10 goals over 107 games in the Premier League for Liverpool. He only played 3,505 minutes between 2015 and 2022.

West Ham held talks to sign Divock Origi from AC Milan on Friday
Origi left Liverpool at the end of his contract last June to sign for AC Milan in a free transfer. But his switch to San Siro has not been a success with the striker now firmly out of manager Stefano Pioli’s plans. The Oostende native has only started 10 of his 27 Serie A appearances.
The 32-cap international has further only played 1,017 minutes in the Italian top-flight so far for the Rossoneri. While Origi ended last season with two goals and an assist. He is also now unlikely to feature often in 2023/24 when AC Milan start the season at Bologna on Monday.
So, with Pioli firmly leaving Origi out of his plans, the West Ham target is looking to secure a transfer back to the Premier League. He has already rejected a transfer to Saudi Arabia over the summer sales. And his desire to return to England sparked the Irons to move this Friday.

Divock Origi has turned down a transfer to east London this summer
West Ham held fresh talks with AC Milan about Origi’s potential transfer this Friday evening. He has long been a target of manager Moyes this summer. But Gazzetta dello Sport reported in July that a transfer to West Ham did not interest Origi as he wanted to stay with AC Milan.
Yet Pioli’s ongoing lack of trust has convinced Origi to reconsider his reluctance to leave San Siro. So, West Ham have moved again. While Sempre Milan add that the Rossoneri value the striker KRC Genk technical director Dimitri de Conde called ‘perfect’ at €14-15m (£12-13m).
