Tottenham Hotspur are discussing a move for Torino defender Perr Schuurs amid a belief he is perfect for Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham Hotspur could now go for another Dutch defender with Torino’s Perr Schuurs emerging as a real target.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Schuurs is a key name on Tottenham’s transfer wish list with another centre back wanted.
Tottenham splashed out on a new left-footed centre back on Tuesday as Micky van de Ven completed his move from Wolfsburg.
Spurs aren’t done looking for new centre backs though with Ange Postecoglou keen to get one more in this summer.
Romano believes that Schuurs is being ‘discussed internally’ at Tottenham and that he is keen on a move to the Premier League.
This comes after Calciomercato reported on Tuesday that Torino are being completed inflexible over their €40million (£34.5million) asking price for Schuurs.
It was suggested that Crystal Palace had backed away at €30million (£26million) but Liverpool and West Ham United were still in the race.
Tottenham could now be a dark horse in this race, just a week since rumours from Italy that Spurs were looking to hijack Palace.

Tottenham analysts think Perr Schuurs is perfect for Ange Postecoglou
Football London also offer information about Tottenham’s pursuit of Schuurs.
They suggest that Schuurs has come up as a Tottenham target of late thanks to the input of the club’s analysts.
Tottenham’s data-led approach is understood to have flagged up Schuurs as being ideal for Postecoglou’s approach.

Schuurs is a big presence at 6ft 3in tall and also has a decent turn of pace; not quite Van de Ven-esque but at least some recovery speed.
That is vital for Postecoglou as, based on his Celtic approach, Spurs will often have a high line and defenders will need to be able to turn and run quickly.
Schuurs has certainly impressed with Torino since joining from Ajax last summer, having been branded a ‘complete’ defender by boss Ivan Juric.
Tottenham could now make their move but will seemingly need to commit a similar fee to Van de Ven in order to make it happen.
