Brad Friedel says it’s ‘remarkable’ that Daniel Levy has managed to put himself in a situation whereby Harry Kane has one-year left on his Tottenham Hotspur contract.
The former Premier League goalkeeper, who was at White Hart Lane for a four-year period, added that Daniel Levy is usually a ‘master’ at tying down his best players to long-term deals, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports (07/08/23 at 7:05 pm).
Well, in less than 12 months, Harry Kane could head for the Tottenham exit door for nothing, that’s if he isn’t already gone by then.
Bayern Munich are trying, several bids have been put in, but Levy has just pushed them back, as the latest offer to go in is in the region of £95 million, plus add-ons, according to Sky Sports.
In comparison to last time, when Manchester City came knocking, the cards are now on Kane’s table because of his contract situation.
That’s why Friedel is surprised because he could end up at a Premier League rival in 2024, with Paul Merson also talking about a possible move to Chelsea.

“Daniel Levy is one of the masters at having one of the best players at the club, with multiple years in his contact,” said Friedel.
“How this has gotten to this, not just one of Tottenham’s best players, but one of the best number 9’s on the globe, is remarkable because this is Daniel Levy’s foré.”

Will Levy reject the latest Bayern offer for Kane?
You would think that might be the case, it’s been well-documented that the Spurs chairman wants over £100 million, so that £95 million offer is clearly short of that.
Some might say, why doesn’t Kane just come out and shut all of this down? Well, he’s probably keen on going, hence his silence.
Either way, the individual it’s affecting the most is Ange Postecoglou because he has a team to pick and build, yet the most important part of the jigsaw could be out of the door tomorrow, next week or by the end of the month.
