Paul Gilmour has claimed that Bayern Munich have annoyed Daniel Levy even further with their latest tactic to try and sign Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.
The Sky Sports reporter pointed out that this Harry Kane transfer saga being ‘played out in the public’ isn’t helping Bayern Munich’s cause, nor Tottenham’s, if truth be told.
Whilst those inside the four walls of Tottenham remain silent about the future of their star striker, well, other than Ange Postecoglou, who gets asked about it every day, those in Munich have a lot to say about themselves.
Well, it was recently suggested that there was this ‘deadline’ Bayern gave Spurs about Kane’s future, but once again, Sky reporter Gilmour pointed out that ‘it didn’t go down well with Daniel Levy‘, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports (07/08/23 at 7:10 pm).
If the England captain does leave, then it is pretty late in the transfer window, which doesn’t help Postecoglou’s cause, with Levy being accused of ‘screwing over’ his new manager.
All in all, are there any winners in this situation as of yet? Probably not, with Gilmour sharing the latest information.
“One of the things you mentioned, the fact that it has played out a bit (in the public),” said Gilmour. “First of all, there were the public comments coming from Bayern, about a month ago, and that actually upset some people at Tottenham and at Bayern.
“That’s the information we are getting again today. That there is this push towards a quick decison, trying to push them into a corner, that didn’t go down well.
“That’s our information, it didn’t go down well with Daniel Levy. I feel Tottenham think that’s not the way to negotiate. That probably hasn’t helped Bayern Munich, in that sense. The fact that negotiations are still open, then anything can still happen.”
Kane preparing for Brentford
Yes, there is a lot of talk from Bayern, but you still have to question why Spurs, or even Kane himself, haven’t put any of this noise to bed.
It’s not helping Postecoglou, who is less than a week away from his first Premier League game in charge against Brentford.
Either shut Bayern up by publicly claiming that Kane isn’t going anywhere, or sell the player, so everyone at Spurs can build forward again.
