Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are on the verge of signing David Raya from Brentford, according to a report.
Football Transfers have reported that Arsenal have agreed a deal with London and Premier League rivals Brentford for the signing of David Raya in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Arsenal will pay Brentford a transfer fee of £25-30 million for the Spain international, who was described as “a top-class goalkeeper” by former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen on Premier League Productions (06/03/23 at 7:35 pm).
Raya has also agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
Football Transfers have reported that Arsenal will announce the signing of Raya after Matt Turner completes his move to Nottingham Forest.
David Raya a potentially curious signing for Arsenal
In our opinion, Brentford goalkeeper David Raya would be a strange signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
At the start of the windoe, not many Arsenal fans would have thought that the Gunners would be on the hunt for a goalkeeper, and that too someone as good and established as Raya.

The Spaniard has been the number one goalkeeper at Brentford for a while now, and his potential arrival does raise questions about Aaron Ramsdale.
Ramsdale is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal, but the Englishman did make some mistakes last season.
Perhaps Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta thinks that Raya is better than Ramsdale.
Maybe Arteta is bringing in Raya to push Ramsdale and make him even better.
Arsenal will be determined to win the Premier League title this season.
The North London club will also play in the UEFA Champions League this campaign.
It promises to be a very exciting campaign for Arsenal.
