Stewart Robson thinks sought-after midfielder and Liverpool transfer target Moises Caicedo is going to secure a transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion to Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea this summer.

The 21-year-old is hot property in the 2023 summer transfer market, with Brighton, after watching Declan Rice join Arsenal for over £100 million, wanting big bucks for their player.

Former Arsenal player Robson thinks Moises Caicedo will be a Chelsea player because the South Coast club will ‘take the money eventually’, as he told ESPN.

Of course, Brighton can start a serious bidding war here because Chelsea aren’t the only ones keen on the hard-hitting midfielder – Kieran Gibbs thinks the player has a ‘quite rare’ talent.

It was suggested that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool would push to sign Caicedo, if they sold Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, well it’s just a matter of time before that happens it seems.

Perhaps both Liverpool and Chelsea will trade blows in August for Caicedo, but for Robson, it’s those in London that will win the race.

“We all know, Brighton will take the money eventually,” said Robson. “They are just waiting for the figure to go up.

“They are going to sell him, probably to Chelsea, it’s just about the figure now.”

Can Brighton keep hold of Caicedo?

Back in January, when Arsenal wanted to sign the player, he went public in wanting that move but never got what he desired.

There doesn’t seem to be much noise coming his way this summer.

If he remains quiet and doesn’t throw up a fuss, then it does increase Brighton’s chances of keeping hold of their star midfielder, especially with the club set to compete in Europe for the first time this upcoming season.
