Borussia Monchengladbach’s managing director has confirmed the Bundesliga club are in ‘good talks’ to sign defender Max Wober from Leeds United.
Daniel Farke, it seems, is about to lose one of Leeds’ key players to his old employers.
Left out of last week’s 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat due to Monaco as negotiations over a move to Germany ramped up, Sky now believe that Max Wober could officially be confirmed as a Borussia Monchengladbach player on Monday.

The Austria international will undergo a medical over the next 48 hours or so.
Gladbach are also expected to pay a loan fee of around £430,000, though it remains to be seen if there will be a purchase clause in the contract of a player who impressed in difficult circumstances after arriving at Elland Road in a £10 million deal from Red Bull Salzburg in the January window.
Leeds United are about to lose Max Wober
“We are in good talks,” managing director Roland Virkus tells Kicker. “It is also clear that we are pushing the issue.
“We believe that the experience he brings is good for the squad. He’s also left-footed, which we haven’t had in central defence for a long time.”
Wober will be the latest Victor Orta signing to leave Elland Road in the aftermath of May’s relegation. Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen, Diego Llorente, Weston McKennie, Brenden Aaronson and Rodrigo Moreno have already departed this summer.
“You’ve mentioned Max Wober,” Farke told Leeds Live after the 25-year-old was conspicuous by his absence from that Monaco clash. “Yes, it has to do with the transfer situation.
“We will await what the outcome is over the next days.”
In more positive news, Leeds are reportedly closing in on a bargain £400,000 deal for experienced Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

“We’ll see (if Darlow signs)” Farke adds, albeit while keeping his cards close to his chest. “So, my philosophy is always to speak about business when it’s really done. For that, I have too much experience. It is done when all is agreed, all is signed, and medicals are done.
“What I can say is that we definitely need a support in the goalkeeper position because yeah, (Joel) Robles has left. So we are a bit thin on this position, especially in terms of experience.
“And yes, Karl Darlow is definitely a good goalkeeper.”
