Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Julen Lopetegui is personally pushing to get a deal done for Bristol City ace Alex Scott.

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking at Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott but Wolverhampton Wanderers are now hoping to get a deal done.

That is according to The Telegraph, who claim that Wolves will make a third bid for midfielder Scott.

Wolves have gone to over £20million with their latest bid for Scott but the Robins aren’t budging.

Bristol City want around £25million for Scott and Wolves are returning with a new bid very soon.

The report claims that Wolves are hopeful of winning the race for Scott ahead of a number of Premier League rivals.

Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are all understood to be interested in signing Scott.

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is understood to be pushing for Scott to join Wolves, believing the is one of the best young players outside of the Premier League.

Wolves must stump up the cash though and until a deal is in place, they could be hijacked.

Tottenham should make their move for Alex Scott

Tottenham are mentioned as a suitor for Scott and that move could make sense.

Spurs are moving to a new style of play under Ange Postecoglou, one which would suit Scott’s technical ability.

Rodrigo Bentancur should fit into the third midfield spot well but he is still out injured.

Scott would be a fine option for that role with his quick feet, comfort on the ball and ability to impact the final third ideal for Postecoglou.

Hailed as ‘brilliant’ by Roy Keane, Scott has enormous potential at just 19 and seems ready for the Premier League.

Wolves are making their move but this is the kind of signing Spurs would regret missing out on, especially with Scott likely to be worth much, much more in a year or two.
