Declan Rice reportedly wants to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal despite interest from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the West Ham United midfielder.
According to The Guardian, Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing Declan Rice from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Treble winners City are planning to make a bid for Rice and are willing to pay the £100 million transfer fee that West Ham want for the England international midfielder.
However, Rice “remains keen to join Arsenal”, according to The Guardian.
There is one major issue, though.
The Guardian have claimed that “Arsenal’s problem remains agreeing a fee”.
“Their first offer was £60m plus £15m in add-ons and that was followed this week by a bid of £75m plus £15m in add-ons,” adds the report.
“West Ham were unimpressed with Arsenal’s attempt to spread the £75m payment over five years and unhappy with what they deemed a series of unrealistic add-ons.”

What should Arsenal do about Declan Rice?
In our opinion, Arsenal should pay the money needed to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Now that Premier League champions Manchester City are showing serious interest in Rice, there is simply no time to lose for the Gunners.
Arsenal have been in talks over the Englishman for a while now, and we believe that it is high time that the North London club get a deal done now and move on to other transfers.
Described as “world class” by Manchester United and England international left-back Luke Shaw, Rice would make Arsenal stronger, better and more combative in the middle of the park.
