Declan Rice has been strongly linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, and it seems that Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw rates the West Ham United midfielder highly.
Sky Sports have reported that Arsenal are keen on signing Declan Rice from London and Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have had an opening bid of £80 million plus add-ons for Rice turned down, but the North London club are planning to make a new offer and are in talks with the Hammers, according to the report.
The Sun have reported that Manchester United want to sign Rice as well, with head coach Erik ten Hag personally keen on bringing the England international midfielder to Old Trafford.
Shaw plays with Rice for England, and the left-back has raved about the West Ham midfielder as well as Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
The United star has said that both Rice and Kane are world-class players and would love to see them move to the Red Devils in the simmer transfer window.
Shaw said about Rice and Kane, as quoted on BBC Sport: “I would love a few of them to join – I am not going to lie.
“I am speaking to them, telling them how good Manchester is, because I know their qualities.
“I know they are world-class players and they would be a massive help to us but I can only say so much. It is up to the club and whatever they decide, so we have to go from there.
“It is not normally discussed but, because of the time of the season and what is going on, there is a lot of talk, a lot of banter.”
