Darren Ambrose has labelled Liverpool’s signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion as ‘brilliant’.
The former Premier League midfielder added that Alexis Mac Allister is a ‘fantastic’ player and he will be a ‘big loss’ for Brighton, as he told talkSPORT.
But what is going to be their loss, will be Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s gain because a midfielder like this was much, much needed for the Merseyside club.

In terms of Liverpool’s home form, they faired well during the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, but where things went wrong was on the road.
It played a massive part in the team, not just falling way behind now-Treble winners Manchester City, but out of the Champions League picture also.
But come next season, Ambrose expects the Reds to ‘definitely’ be in the top four race and also be the ones locking horns with Pep Guardiola’s side for the title again.
“Brilliant signing,” said Ambrose. “I think he is a fantastic player. A World Cup winner. He was brilliant for Brighton. He is a big loss for Brighton.
“A great signing for Liverpool. I think Liverpool will improve. They will definitely compete for the top four. But they will also be looking to compete with Manchester City.”

Mac Allister a smart purchase by Liverpool
For only £35 million, Liverpool have done well, not just to get a player of Mac Allister’s quality over the line, but for such a small fee, in footballing terms.
When you see that someone like Declan Rice could make a switch from West Ham to Arsenal for £100 million, then you know the Reds have done well here.
But the Anfield faithful want more, not because they are greedy, but because they feel that the team needs it, or else, the same issues and problems will showcase themselves again next season.
