Ally McCoist says it’s ‘wrong’ to suggest that Arsenal possibly signing Declan Rice from West Ham United for ‘£100 million’ is a ‘bargain’.
That suggestion was put forward to the former Scotland striker and he added by saying ‘we have officially lost the plot’ amid this Declan Rice talk, as he told talkSPORT (14/06/23 at 8:35 pm).
Arsenal are pushing hard to sign the West Ham United captain, with an £80 million plus add-ons bid rejected on Thursday, as reported by Sky Sports.

Unless a player is thrown into the mix, it seems as though that £100 million mark needs to be hit in order to land Rice’s talents.
The England international is on the highest of highs after winning the Europa Conference League and ending the Hammers’ 43-year wait for a trophy.
Nonetheless, when it was claimed that Rice at £100m is a ‘bargain’, it’s fair to say that McCoist wasn’t impressed.
“No, it’s wrong on so many counts,” said McCoist. “Don’t get me started.
“We have lost the plot entirely by saying that £100 million is a bargain. We have officially lost the plot.”

Arsenal taking a risk with Rice, but will it be worth it?
This is serious money that is being thrown at the hard-hitting Englishman, but at the end of the day, if you believe in his talents, then you will go all out – Owen Hargreaves certainly thinks the ‘diamond’ midfielder is worth that much.
A player like Rice isn’t coming in to maintain the club’s second-placed finish, but to help them towards trophies and the Premier League title.
If that doesn’t happen, then verbal punches will be thrown at the player and the club.
