Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are now actively trying to beat Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to the signing of Moises Caicedo in the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter, Chelsea are in talks with Brighton and Hove Albion over the signing of Moises Caicedo, who is on the radar of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal as well.
The Guardian have reported that Arsenal are planning to make a bid for the Brighton and Ecuador international midfielder.
Galetti has claimed that Pochettino personally wants the 21-year-old at Chelsea, and that there would be no issues for the midfield regarding agreeing personal terms with the Blues.
Football Transfers have also claimed that Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in Caicedo, described as “strong and powerful” by Manchester United legend Roy Keane.
Galetti wrote on Twitter (6:28pm, June 12, 2023): “#Chelsea are working with #Brighton to reach an agreement for #Caicedo, confirmed.
“No issues expected on personal terms side.
“As told, the MF is the main target for Pochettino: the new #CFC manager considers him the ideal player to strengthen the midfield.”

What should Arsenal do amid Chelsea talks over Moises Caicedo?
In our opinion, if Arsenal are really keen on Moises Caicedo, then they simply have to start talks with Brighton and Hove Albion over the midfielder and try to beat Chelsea to his signature.
Yes, the Gunners are reportedly finalising a deal for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, but that does not mean that the North London club cannot work on another transfer at the same time.
If Chelsea are in talks over Caicedo, then it means that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are serious about him.
Arsenal simply have to step up their pursuit of Caicedo.
