Tottenham Hotspur have made contact to try and land Bayern Munich’s Marco Neppe as their new director of football.
Bayern Munich technical director Marco Neppe is emerging as a real target for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
That is according to Bild reporter Tobi Altschaffl, who has taken to Twitter to discuss a potential Spurs move for Neppe.
Altschaffl claims that Tottenham have made a ‘loose request’ for Neppe, seemingly making first contact to engineer a move.
It’s added that nothing is decided just yet in terms of Neppe’s future even though Tottenham are keen.
Neppe took part in Bayern’s squad planning meeting on Wednesday, taking the approach of business as usual.
Tottenham desperately need to appoint a new director of football soon with the transfer window taking centre stage.
Fabio Paratici hasn’t yet been replaced and whilst much of the focus is on landing a new manager like Ange Postecoglou, a new director of football is hugely important too.

Who is Tottenham Hotspur target Marco Neppe?
Neppe was a right back and holding midfielder as a player and came up through the Eintracht Frankfurt ranks.
First-team minutes weren’t on offer for Neppe but he did record five goals in 53 games for their second team.
Neppe spent most of his time in Germany’s lower leagues, turning out for Wuppertaler SV Borussia, SV When Wiesbaden, VfL Osnabruck and Alemannia Aachen.
Neppe decided to retire in the summer of 2014, aged just 28 as he wanted a ‘career change’, according to Aachen.
Bayern Munich were happy to take Neppe in and appoint him as an assistant to technical director Michael Reschke.
Neppe worked his way up to take the technical director role in 2021 and has been a vital part of the Bayern operation for years now.
You may wonder why Neppe would give up such a prominent role with one of the biggest clubs around.
Big changes have come at Bayern over the last week with CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic sacked.
These are uncertain times at the Allianz Arena and Neppe may fancy a chance to call the shots with another club as he looks to advance his career.
Neppe is only 36 but his years of experience at Bayern make him a very interesting candidate for Tottenham, especially with a strong knowledge of the Bundesliga market expected from him.
