It has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur manager target Graham Potter looks likely that he could join Nice.

This comes from L’Equipe, after it was claimed in May that the former Chelsea boss was being considered for the vacancy in N17.

However, it seems like Nice may be on the agenda for much-maligned manager Graham Potter instead of Tottenham Hotspur.

Graham Potter could now turn down Tottenham interest to become Nice manager

The English coach, who was once lauded for the tremendous job he had done at Brighton & Hove Albion was sacked by Chelsea in what was a truly nightmarish campaign for him and the club.

However, during his time at Brighton, even Pep Guardiola said that he thoroughly enjoyed watching the 48-year-old’s side, and admitted that he would loved to play for his team as a player (via Sussex Express).

While Tottenham seemed to have had Graham Potter on their radar, it has been claimed that he is the ‘favourite’ to become the next Nice manager.

It has been stated that while INEOS are more interested in appointing Roberto De Zerbi, they are aware that he is unlikely to leave after securing Europa League qualification with Brighton.

The blow for Tottenham is that Nice have held meetings with Graham Potter and there is a feeling of unanimity over his potential arrival.

Spurs need to act quickly as their manager situation worsens

As Arne Slot also turned down the chance to manage Spurs, the mess around their managerial situation smacks of their struggles in 2021 before Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment.

With Graham Potter looking likely to join Nice, Tottenham must ensure that they persuade a manager to come on board as swiftly as possible.

Ultimately, there are not many coaches in the market both capable of setting a progressive tactical blueprint as well as building a long-term project.

Potter has done that in the past and while he would have fitted the Spurs way, his potential spell at the Ligue 1 side just shows that the options are reducing for them day-by-day.
