Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are reportedly interested in Josko Gvardiol, a player Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United turned down the chance to sign in the summer of 2022.
According to The Times, Manchester City are interested in signing Josko Gvardiol, who was linked with Manchester United last summer.
The report has claimed that if Aymeric Laporte leaves at the end of the season, then defending Premier League champions City could make a bid for Gvardiol.
RB Leipzig are willing to sell the 21-year-old Croatia international central defender for €100 million (£86.7 million) despite there being a release clause of €114 million (£98.9 million) in his contract.
The Times have added that “the defender was on Manchester United’s centre back shortlist last summer but they opted to sign Lisandro Martínez from Ajax instead”.

Former Manchester United target Josko Gvardiol could flourish at Manchester City
Now, Manchester United may have thought that Lisandro Martinez is better than Josko Gvardiol, but that does not mean that the youngster would not flourish at Manchester City.
We believe that the 21-year-old, who is rated highly by former United defender Nemanja Vidic, would be a very good signing for City.
Yes, a transfer fee of £87 million does appear to be a lot, but Gvardiol is only 21 now and has huge potential.
We have seen with young players at City that they improve and develop under manager Pep Guardiola.
Phil Foden and Rico Lewis are just two young players who are excelling at City under Guardiola.
And Gvardiol could do so as well.
