As Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face Brentford on Saturday afternoon, Yago Santiago has been pictured in first-team training.

Spurs took to Twitter to post training pictures of the players, as the 20-year-old was seen trying to win the ball back from Ben Davies.

With Tottenham Hotspur virtually out of the top four race ahead of their upcoming contest against Brentford, perhaps now is the best time to involve young players like Yago Santiago.

Apart from Oliver Skipp, who could become one of the captains at the clubs, Spurs have barely even given any of their youth products any chances.

And in Skipp’s case, he was a first-team regular, even if he was not starting games on a frequent basis.

However, it seems like Ryan Mason believed that Yago Santiago should well have been given a chance to train with the Tottenham first-team ahead of their battle against Brentford.

The Spaniard, a natural attacking midfielder by trade is clearly immensely highly-rated.

If Yago Santiago does make an impression in training for Tottenham ahead of games such as against Brentford, who is to say that he cannot become a regular starter down the line?

This current Spurs side is devoid of any creativity in midfield, barring Rodrigo Bentancur, who has sustained a long-term injury.

When Tottenham eventually appoint a brand-new manager, Yago Santiago should hope he has a tendency to give young players a chance.

After all, a silky No.10 like Santiago that creates chances for fun is a profile that the London-based side are currently in need of.

However, for the fleet-footed midfielder to get his big break, the presence of a manager that does not hesitate to give raw talents a chance would be a dream scenario for him.
