A new report has made the claim that Oliver Skipp could join the four-captain group at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of next season.

The £49,000-a-week (Salary Sport) man, who joined Spurs at just five years of age has established his presence as his boyhood club’s go-to defensive midfielder.

As Oliver Skipp becomes a more integral member of this Tottenham Hotspur side, he could now become a part of the four-captain group.

Currently, the three skippers at the club are Hugo Lloris, Harry Kane and Eric Dier.

Branded as ‘brilliant’ by talkSPORT, the midfield anchor never seemed to look any closer to such a role as it was only two seasons ago where he went on loan to Norwich City.

As per a report by the Daily Mail, it is looking increasingly likely that Oliver Skipp, alongside Eric Dier, Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris becomes a captain at the club.

In fact, it has been revealed that Spurs executives have held meetings with senior players in recent weeks.

Surprisingly, Skipp, who is only just 22 years old was one of the players reached out to in these conversations.

HITC View: A story that needs applauding

With how visceral football fans tend to get from time to time, the fact that Tottenham already view Oliver Skipp as a captain is likely to be ridiculed by opposition fans.

The general consensus would be that while the Englishman is a talent, he is yet to achieve anything significant in the game to be given such a responsibility.

Leaving that aside, it is extremely inspirational that Skipp, who is Tottenham through and through has been considered as a viable option for such a massive role at the club.

Considering millions of boys and girls aim to play professionally at the very least, for Oliver Skipp to be considered as a potential captain for his boyhood club is the stuff of dreams.

Regardless of how his career pans out, the highly-rated midfielder must get his props.
