Burnley are stepping up their Premier League preparations with reports linking Bundesliga forward Sheraldo Becker, Parma’s Yann Karamoh and Standard Liege defender Gojko Cimirot.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany last week played down suggestions that Burnley could take a leaf out of Nottingham Forest’s book and bring in enough new signings to fill the entirety of the Bob Lord Stand.

But with uncertainty surrounding the futures of Nathan Tella, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Ian Maatsen and Michael Obafemi – all of whom spent the 2022/23 season on loan in Lancashire – Kompany and co will still be in for a busy summer.

Jordan Beyer, another of their Championship-winning loanees, has already been snapped up on a permanent basis.

Top scorer Tella, however, may be wanted. Especially having proven himself to be a reliable source of goals in the second-tier. Tella will not be easily replaced. Sheraldo Becker, however, could do a better job than most at stepping into his boots.

The jet-heeled forward has been one of the breakthrough stars of the Bundesliga season under Champions League-chasing overacheivers Union Berlin. He’s scored 12 goals, set up 10 more and, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, could cost up to £17 million with West Ham and Fulham also keen.

24-year-old Karamoh has not been quite so prolific at Torino. As pointed out by the Daily Mail, however, he is available for free this summer, and that added affordability could appeal to Burnley. The Clarets also looked at the one-time Inter Milan youngster back in 2022.

Belgian publication Het Belang van Limburg throw Cimirot’s name into the frame too. While older than Kompany’s usual targets, the 30-year-old defensive midfielder could bring some useful experience to Turf Moor.

Capped 41 times by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cimirot – like Karamoh – is out of contract this summer. HBVL believe that his salary demands are likely to beyond a Standard Liege side hoping to agree fresh terms.

Amongst others, Burnley are reportedly keen on a £22 million La Liga striker too…
