The news gets worse and worse for Tottenham Hotspur supporters, who probably can’t wait for the season to end.

After finding out Julian Naglesmann won’t be their next manager and losing 2-1 to Aston Villa in a crucial European game on Saturday afternoon, Fabrizio Romano posted on Twitter overnight that Mauricio Pochettino has ‘full agreement’ to become Chelsea’s next manager.

Whilst Tottenham stare into oblivion and fans are disgruntled at the running of their club, their London rivals, in a deeper mess, are seemingly showing signs of recovery and a long-term plan, well, off the field of play, at least.

As soon as things started going wrong with Antonio Conte, there were many Spurs fans who pointed towards a possible return for Pochettino.

It was simple for all, he was a free agent and all Daniel Levy had to do was pick up the phone. But, instead, they will have to watch Pochettino now possibly sing and dance towards trophies in Chelsea colours in the coming years.

In the meantime, Tottenham fans still don’t know who their next manager will be, sporting director or if Harry Kane will sign a new deal because he will have 12 months left to run this summer – Arsene Wenger has shared his thoughts.

Nonetheless, this is what transfer expert and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted about Pochettino:

POCHETTINO WOULD HAVE BROUGHT SMILES BACK AT SPURS

Everything that can go wrong, is going wrong with Tottenham. From the form of individual players to the sleep-walking style of play and lack of leadership at the top of the club.

If Pochettino was re-appointed, then it would have brought smiles back to Spurs and lifted a mood that is only becoming more toxic by the week.

Well, Tottenham’s last home game of the season is against Brentford next Saturday and you can bet your bottom dollar that the annoyance towards a certain Daniel Levy will only grow louder.
