Alexis Mac Allister wants to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool amid interest from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to a report.

Manchester United target Alexis Mac Allister wants to join Liverpool

The Mirror have reported that Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United all want to sign Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

The Argentina international midfielder really wants to join Liverpool and is “ready to commit his future” to the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners, according to the report.

The Mirror have added that “talks are a long way down the line”, and that the 24-year-old – described as a “phenomenon” by Peru international forward Beto da Silva who played with him at Argentinos Juniors – is now likely to move to Liverpool for £70 million.

Big statement

In our view, Alexis Mac Allister deciding to join Liverpool over Manchester United and Arsenal shows just how much pull the Merseyside club have despite the prospect of not having UEFA Champions League football next season.

Arsenal could win the Premier League title this season, while United are likely to end up in the top four.

Liverpool are not having a great season, but Jurgen Klopp’s side are still Mac Allister’s preferred team.

That shows that even without a season of UEFA Champions League football, Liverpool are hugely attractive to quality players, even to those who have won the World Cup.

We believe that Liverpool would be a better, stronger and more solid team with Mac Allister in it.
