Darren Bent says ‘people aren’t even talking about’ Harry Kane and the ‘phenomenal’ goalscoring form he is showing for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

The talkSPORT pundit thinks Erling Haaland’s goal-crazy season in the colours of Manchester City means that the Spurs superstar is going under the radar.

But whilst Haaland has bagged a remarkable 35 league goals this season from 32 games, including 51 in all competitions, Harry Kane has 26 for a Spurs side that has sacked their manager and plays defensive-minded football.

That’s why the talk around the 29-year-old’s future is growing by the week and ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

Manchester United are one of those clubs mentioned, they are sitting fourth in the table and are at risk of losing that spot to Liverpool.

If that happens, then Bent can’t see why Kane would go to Old Trafford in the summer, as he told talkSPORT.

On if Manchester United needs to get the top four to get Kane: ‘I think so,” said Bent. “To attract all the best players on the planet, you need to be playing in the Champions League.

“He has got a big decision to make. He has been phenomenal. Just past Wayne Rooney. His goal record is phenomenal.

“People aren’t even talking about him this season because of what Haaland is doing. But consistency, every single year, Harry Kane is at the top.

“He’s a legend. A Premier League legged. However you put it, he’s a Premier League legend, without winning a trophy yet.”

KANE IS COOKING

If it wasn’t for Kane, then Spurs would be in midtable with their London rivals Chelsea and looking over their shoulders at the relegation fight.

That might just become reality next season, if their star man heads for the exit door.

Not only is this Tottenham side, outside of Kane, abject but those running the ship, namely Daniel Levy, can’t be trusted to take the club forward.
