Alexis Mac Allister is keen on a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, but Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United could scupper a deal for the Reds.

That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Romano has reported that Liverpool are determined to sign Mac Allister from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners will continue negotiations in the next two weeks.

Romano has added that the Argentina international midfielder himself is keen on a switch to Liverpool.

However, according to the journalist, Manchester United have not given up on convincing the midfielder to move to Old Trafford and remain interested in him.

Get a deal done fast

In our view, if Liverpool are to make sure that they sign Alexis Mac Allister, then they have to get a deal done with Brighton and Hove Albion and with the midfielder soon.

It seems that the Reds are already in talks, and the Merseyside club have to accelerate those negotiations now.

Manchester United are now looking likely to end up in the Premier League top four this season.

Erik ten Hag is building something special at Old Trafford, and a move to the Red Devils could be appealing to the 24-year-old.

Mac Allister won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina and is going from strength to strength.

Peru international forward Beto da Silva played with Mac Allister at Argentinos Juniors, and he considers him a “phenomenon”.
