So, Spurs are now looking at potential replacements for the England international striker.
InterLive have claimed that Tottenham are keen on Inter striker Martinez.
Former Serie A and UEFA Champions League winners Inter will reportedly sell the Argentina international striker for €80 million (£71 million).
Martinez turned down Arsenal
It is quite interesting that Spurs think that they could sign the 25-year-old, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina.
Yes, Tottenham are a big club, but they may not end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Inter regularly play in the UEFA Champions League.
And playing in Europe’s premier club competition is why Martinez turned down the chance to move to Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal last summer.
The Times reported in May 2022 that Arsenal wanted to sign Martinez from Inter in the summer of 2022.
However, the striker turned down the chance to move to the Gunners because they did not finish in the top four of the Premier League table last season, meaning that they could not qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
