Tottenham Hotspur have already reportedly made contact to bring Roberto De Zerbi from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

Daniel Levy stance on Tottenham manager target Roberto De Zerbi

The Daily Mail have reported that Brighton boss De Zerbi is one of the managers that Tottenham are considering appointing in the summer of 2023.

The report has claimed that Spurs have already made “made initial enquiries as to what it might take to lure De Zerbi to north London for next season”.

However, the Italian manager “has slipped down Daniel Levy’s shortlist” in recent days.

Although the 43-year-old, described as “an incredible manager” by former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood on Premier League Productions last week, remains an option for Spurs, the North London club have Julian Naglesmann and Arne Slot ahead of them in the list.

HITC Verdict: Tottenham should prioritise someone else

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur should look at others before going back to Roberto De Zerbi.

Yes, the Italian has done extremely well for Brighton and Hove Albion, but he is still relatively young.

After all, the Italian is just 43.

Tottenham are a much bigger club than Brighton, and the expectations are also higher.

Now, we are not saying that De Zerbi would not be a good managerial appointment for Tottenham.

Of course, he would be.

What we would like Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to do is look at candidates who are more experienced and have a better track record than De Zerbi.
