Luis Garcia has told Tottenham Hotspur to forget about Julian Nagelsmann, and instead, appoint ‘top manager’ Luis Enrique to replace Antonio Conte.
The former Liverpool player added that Luis Enrique, who is a close friend of the former striker, has ‘everything’ to be successful in the colours of Tottenham after winning nine trophies in his career.
It has been just over a week since Antonio Conte verbally ripped into his Spurs team after they let a 3-1 lead slip to record a 3-3 draw at bottom-of-the-table, Southampton.

Ever since that day, many have expected it to be the end of the road for Conte to the point that they don’t expect him to be in the dugout for their trip to Everton after the international break – it is said that Daniel Levy has made his decision.
Well, that has resulted in names, left, right and centre being tipped for the Tottenham manager’s job. From the obvious name of Mauricio Pochettino to 35-year-old Julian Nagelsmann, who was recently sacked by Bayern Munich.
But Luis Garcia thinks none of those men should be appointed, as he explained why it should be his fellow countryman, as he told ESPN.
“Well, he’s a friend of mine, so I would straight away go for Luis Enrique,” said Garcia. “I think it’s a great job to arrive there, despite everything that has happened for many years. I still think it’s a fantastic club.
“Luis Enrique has got everything to be successful there. He’s got that energy. He has got that attitude. He is ready to fight. I think he has the experience to build something very unique at Tottenham, so it could be a fantastic choice.
“I understand there are a lot of managers for the position – I remember when he ended his career at Barcelona as a player, he wanted to get ready, learn English and get ready for the opportunity when he goes to the Premier League. I would love to see that happening because I think he is a top manager.”

CONTE IS STILL IN THE BUILDING
In normal circumstances, you would think it’s a little disrespectful that so many names are being linked with the Tottenham job, despite Conte still being in the hot seat.
But given that the Italian hasn’t signed a new deal yet and he went on a full-blown rant recently, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s not bothered by it all and is asking for the boot by Daniel Levy.
Well, with players set to return from the international break next week, then some sort of decision needs to be made, sooner rather than later.
