Jamie Carragher has lauded Arsenal transfer target Victor Osimhen for his headed goal during Napoli’s second-leg Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt and labelled it as ‘Ronaldo-esque’.

The sought-after forward netted a brace on Wednesday night as the Serie A leaders breezed past their German counterparts in the Champions League, 3-0 on the night and 5-0 on aggregate, and Carragher added that Osimhen is ‘going to be a superstar’.

There are a lot of eyes on the 24-year-old heading into the summer transfer market and Carragher feels that the all-action striker will leave Naples, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (15/03/23 at 10:10 pm).

It seems as though he is destined for the Premier League stage given that it is dubbed ‘the best league in the world’.

Added to that, with the amount of money in England’s top-flight, then it’s only a matter of time before a high-profile team comes knocking for his services.

Well, whatever does happen, Osimhen is a player hugely admired and he has a fan in former Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher.

“That reminded me of, I can’t think what goal, but I feel Ronaldo scored 5 or ten of them in his life,” said Carragher. “That’s what it felt like.

“Going backwards. That power. That was unbelievable. We don’t see that as much. The game is a lot more technical now. You don’t see the ball crossed as much and a big centre-forward heading it.

“But it’s one of the greatest sights in football to see a great-headed goal. It’s Ronaldo-esque. It looks like he is going to be a superstar, but unfortunately for Napoli, he won’t be there next season and it will be really interesting to see where he ends up.”

OSIMHEN IS ONE OF EUROPE’S BEST

Well, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal might not be the only team in Europe winning their respective league title after a long time.

Whilst it has been nearly 20 years since Arsenal were champions of England. It has been 30 years since Napoli have been champions of Italy.

For Napoli, one of the stars of the show has been Osimhen and, at the end of the season, he might just end up in the colours of Arsenal given their interest in the player.

The Gunners already have a young, vibrant and fearless forward line and it might go up a few levels with his possible arrival.
