Rio Ferdinand has said that after watching Liverpool exit the Champions League after their 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham may have ruled himself out of a move to Anfield.

The £130 million-rated Bellingham, who has been linked with a transfer to Jurgen Klopp’s side for months, with Thierry Henry also saying that it is obvious that the player is keen on the move.

However, Rio Ferdinand doubts the ‘elite’ Jude Bellingham would be open to a switch to Liverpool, especially after their loss to Real Madrid.

As things stand, the Reds sit in 6th place in the Premier League table after a disastrous season and have been knocked out of Europe.

Many would be inclined to agree with the Manchester United legend, considering Los Blancos have also reportedly made a £123 million offer for his services.

Despite Jude Bellingham having made headlines in the past for being a Steven Gerrard fan, Rio Ferdinand has questioned whether he would fancy a move after seeing them get beaten by Real Madrid.

“Watch the game there”, he opened on BT Sport.

Ferdinand continued, “If Liverpool get Bellingham, Stevie [Steven Gerrard], yourself [Michael Owen] have had to have run the channel to get him. Swam the channel to get this guy.”

“I just think even if he watches that tonight, he’s sitting there thinking, ‘if Real Madrid are in for me and Liverpool, there’s only one place I can go.’ And they don’t finish in the Champions League also maybe.”

“As a player, I’d think nothing to do with my allegiances to do with [Manchester] United or Liverpool, I just think as a player, you look at it cold thinking, ‘I see more trophies here.’

While Jude Bellingham only knows whether witnessing Liverpool get comprehensively beaten by Liverpool will hamper his desire to make a potential move, Rio Ferdinand makes a fair point.
