As Crystal Palace prepare to take on Arsenal this Sunday, Guardian journalist Ed Aarons has reported that it is looking likely that Patrick Vieira could get the sack, with Steve Parish believed to be growing increasingly frustrated.

While Vieira has largely been lauded for his work at Palace, things have gone awry as his side are yet to win a single game in 2023.

To make matters worse, Patrick Vieira sees his side go toe-to-toe against the worst possible opponents in Mikel Arteta’s men, who are sitting 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Ahead of their clash against Arsenal, it has been claimed that Patrick Vieira could now be in serious trouble with Steve Parish, as his future at Crystal Palace has become uncertain.

The £70,000-a-week man has a lot of exciting attacking talent at his disposal, with names like Wilfried Zaha, Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Odsonne Edouard springing to mind.

Yet, Palace have failed to push on any further from their 12th place finish last season as they currently sit in the same position, just 3 points above the relegation zone.

Now, the Guardian’s Ed Aarons has claimed that ahead of his side’s clash against Arsenal, chairman Steve Parish is ‘unimpressed’ by the recent form at Crystal Palace, with there being a ‘serious doubt’ about the future of Patrick Vieira.

Furthermore, it has been stated that Parish is ‘weighing up’ whether to make a managerial change as well.

Patrick Vieira could well be out of a job after the Arsenal clash

Unfortunately for Patrick Vieira and Crystal Palace, their upcoming contest against Arsenal is a write-off for all practical purposes.

And in case the inevitable result does transpire, one wonders whether Steve Parish will let the Frenchman leave, considering the league position is currently hiding the fact they are in a relegation battle.

That is the worst-case scenario for such a talented squad, which could mean that he is relieved of his duties during the international to bring in a new voice to take charge at least until the end of the season.
