Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have joined Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the race for Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries, according to CMW.

Aston Villa join race for Arsenal target Denzel Dumfries

The Italian news outlet has claimed that Villa are interested in signing Dumfries from Inter in the summer transfer window.

The Villans could reportedly make a bid of €35 million (£31 million) for the Netherlands international, who is a versatile player and can operate as a right-back right wing-back or centre-back.

Interestingly, Emery’s former club, Arsenal, have also been linked with Dumfries.

Italian outlet L’Interista reported last month that Arsenal are among the clubs keen on Dumfries and are in the front row.

Arsenal over Aston Villa for Denzel Dumfries

In our view, Aston Villa are unlikely to be able to sign Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan ahead of Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal could win the Premier League title this season and play in the UEFA Champions League next campaign.

The Gunners are back to being a real force in English football again.

Arsenal could now challenge for the Premier League title in the coming years.

Villa are unlikely to even get into the UEFA Europa League anytime soon.

We believe that having competed for the Serie A title and played in the UEFA Champions League, Dumfries, 26, would find a move to Arsenal more appealing than a transfer to Villa.
